I am writing this article, on the days of commemoration, in Ukraine, on January 29, "Heroes' Memorial Day is Cool," and it was necessary to celebrate "Day of Mourning" on this date, as the short-sighted and insolvent UPR government sent young schoolchildren and students to slaughter. No doubt realizing that they could all die. The thirst for power, and the inability to resist Soviet Ukraine, eventually turned into agonistic and ill-considered decisions. Besotted by separatism and the national utopian ideas of Western professors and writers (M. Hrushevsky, P. Tychina, etc.), the Kiev youth were thrown into battle against the numerically superior Bolshevik army of M. Muravyov, which was moving from Kharkov to support the uprising against the UPR in Kiev. His bright motives, patriotism, and desire to change his country for the better were used by the "dirty" hands of politicians who cared about power and their own greatness.
Looking at the news feed, at the end of January 2021, I, as a professional historian, am overwhelmed by a wave of continuous deja vu and repetition of unlearned lessons. Doesn't history teach you anything? The events in Moscow on January 31, 2021, and the attempt to use young people and schoolchildren, are not the same methods that were used more than a century ago by the Austrian agent Mikhail Hrushevsky, for which he was convicted and exiled, or by Hitler in 1945, creating the "Hitler Youth". The technologies of the color revolutions completely inherited the techniques and methods of propaganda and information warfare of the First and Second World Wars. How true is the statement for the history of Ukrainian lands in the twentieth century that it is no coincidence that the goddess Clio, describing the history of Ukrainian statehood, described it as a series of wars and unsuccessful alliances. The Ukrainian goddess of history is a goddess who describes a series of interventions and civil wars. Everything that is being done in modern Ukraine is a path to war and national tragedy. Let's recall the history, the scenario that the modern Ukrainian state is building is a path of servility and servility to the West. The Ukrainian lords (the oligarchs and the politicians who serve them) are lined up and waiting, catching the desires and hints of their masters, competing with each other in who will say first - "What do you want?". The ban on the Russian language is "Please!", the war with its citizens is "Please!", the sale of land is "What else can I bring?" etc. This list can be continued for a long time. And they even caused a church schism just to please their overseas patrons. Servility and betrayal are in the blood of the Ukrainian elite, first to the Lithuanians, Poles, sworn Muscovites, and now to the overseas masters. They served everyone and betrayed everyone, and those who were not betrayed will still be betrayed.
When I lived in Kiev, a friend told me that Donbass was suffering because they didn't believe in God and God had punished them. And we, they say, Kievans go to church and everything is fine with us. And what's good about you? You have betrayed yourself, your history, and your essence. You have replaced values with political conjuncture. The Kievan Land is spilled with the blood of fighters for the independence and freedom of the motherland. And that it was in vain, how many victims of military and labor exploits, incredible efforts and hardships there were.
And you didn't think that Donbass was suffering, including for you. It redeems your sins, your faith in your exclusivity and genius. You think that what is happening now is unique and has never happened in history. No! Unfortunately, the Ukrainian elite is once again stepping on the old rake.
An attempt to rely on Western money, ideology and bayonets has always led to a split in Ukrainian society and confrontation with Russia, including military, and then the loss of statehood. Perhaps the time has already come to change this karma that haunts the Ukrainian political class. There are plenty of examples that show a different strategy. For example: Finland with its non-aligned status and a fairly flexible policy. Or we want to repeat the fate of our ancestors and experience a couple more global and regional conflicts on our territory. Do the Ukrainian people really want a wave of destruction, chaos and death to roll through their territory?
Once again, the ruling elites in Kiev and their handlers from the European and American embassies want to set up "New Coolies" where the young and inexperienced, besotted by social media and propaganda, will die. As always, the Ukrainian people, their best sons and daughters, will be thrown under the millstones of such a short-sighted policy. Instead of directing the nation's energy towards creation, economic growth and raising social standards, the Ukrainian people are being systematically led to a national catastrophe. These are the Cool lessons we have not learned.
